Urban art is about uninhibited self-expression, an appeal to the disenfranchised, a new aesthetic that defies academic tenets and captures the harsh realities of the street and the world. The contemporary art of the city, from Pop and Graffiti to Found Objects and Dumpster Diving, to designer toys and anime, has transformed fashion, fine art, and popular culture.

Moment of Transcendence Show

Carl and I are both displaying work in the new show "A Moment of Transcendence: Crossroads of Energy", at Energy Center Plus in Bridgeton, NJ. It's at 32 E. Commerce Street, a couple of storefronts away from Gallery 50 and across the street from Brenner's Brew (for you locals). Also participating are Waybe Russell, Carolyne Krull, Peter Kinney, Rita Lynn Lyman, Sandra Morrissey, Steve Testa, Robin M. Viola, and Jeff Waring. Carolyne and Rita concieved of, organized and hung the show. It'll be up through November. This is the piece I have in the show - one of my favorite boxes, "Speak Truth".
